An integrative initiative in creative work & learning.

Projects: Undergraduate Creativity Research Project (UCRP)

Arts on Earth is committed to enhancing creativity through the arts across the U-M campus.  Aware that "creativity" is a holy grail in many disciplines, Arts on Earth has convened a group of faculty from 14 different units who are interested in studying classroom practices that enhance and inhibit undergraduate creativity.  While a great deal of research has been done on creativity in different populations, very little has been done on university undergraduates; furthermore, "creativity" is defined in very different ways across disciplines.  The UCRP group is meeting monthly, with faculty from different units presenting relevant definitions, research findings, and best practices in order to establish a common knowledge base.  The UCRP's ultimate aim is to develop classroom tools that can help enhance creativity in across campus.  Since its inception, the School of Education and the Center for Creative Research on Learning and Teaching have partnered with Arts on Earth in this undertaking.
